OMG – Bigger than life bobbleheads!! [Photoset]

Tall Bobbleheads Yes, of all the food offerings, curly W decorative caps (love em!), and roll-up glass walls on the Red Porch restaurant, I was most impressed with the bobbling heads of the seven foot statues in the renamed Nats Family Fun Area next to the video game zone. When Stan Kasten led us on a tour past these tall mascot replicas, I assumed they were statues (but not THE statues being unveiled next week) despite the fact that he clearly did say bobbleheads. Nobody touched them that I saw, but I was kind of behind the crowd. I’m not normally in the habit of taking pictures of myself for fear of appearing to be a narcissistic blogger, but posing with them was too hard to pass up (and thankfully Cheryl Nichols complied with my goofball request).

As I put my arm around George to cozy up, I felt his hair move (mullet? wig?) and freaked. “Ohmygawd, I broke it!” I thought. How awful to break something the public hasn’t even seen yet! So I looked behind his head and noticed the whole thing nodding in agreement with my horror. Whoa, wait! It *really* is a bobblehead! My day was complete. I am an adult, really. Really! (more later)

Hmm… I wonder if the heads on the Walter Johnson, Hondo, et al statues bob too? Nah!
