Need Scorebook Now!

Posted on April 8, 2009 at 7:23 am

I’m pretty sure I have two freebie Bob Carpenter scorebooks floating around somewhere that I’ve been unable to locate. I’ve decided they’re the right size to fit into the back of my camera bag and I’ll just adapt to the traditional scoring system. Maybe. I may end up printing and binding a homemade book again. The team store told me they’ll begin selling the BC books opening day. So in the meantime, I’ve resorted to “back of the napkin” scoring (and yes, in my own way).

I’ve been using cards from Christopher Swingley’s site for the last couple years. The cyan ones are nice because you can tell the difference between the scorecard lines and pen/pencil marks. Printed on cardstock they work really well.

There’s a score card website. I also can send you the ones I made up in Excel. They are real simple but slightly better than on the back of a napkin.

Let me know your email and I’ll send you the file!

Thanks both of you! Trey, I’ve used those scorecards in the past – they are good. I couldn’t remember the URL, so thanks! My problem is that I’m really picky and want to print smaller than an 8.5×11 page so whatever I make fits in the back of my camera bag! But I may give it a shot anyway.

Carol, I’d love to see your Excel one! My email is misschatter at gmail. Thanks!

I tried the “fan version” of the BC scorebook at the exhibition game. It’s not bad. I like having the elbow room of the full-size version, but I was able to track everything pretty well in the “Nats Park” model. Pretty sure it would fit inside your camera bag. (And it sounds like you have more than one of those around the house already!)
