C’mon Ladies, let’s boo those Phillies!
August 26, 2007
Ok, ok, I know that’s not very good sportsmanship on my part, but reading about the current Padres/Phillies series got my blood boiling remembering the whole attack on John Lannan by their fans after Lannan’s unfortunate lack of command for a couple pitches in his MLB debut. Hitting Utley and Howard accidentally is nothing compared to Carlos Ruiz riding a magic carpet through the air and claiming it was a slide just to break up the double play, taking out Padres’ 2nd baseman Marcus Giles and leaving him with a sprained knee. Now who’s playing (ph)filthy? For real! So are Padres fans shouting Carlos Ruiz must die?
So here’s a chance for the ladies to overtake RFK when the Phillies come to town and make sure the righteousness of the Phans in the stands is overpowered by the spirit of Nationals fans. As luck would have it, the Phillies are in town during the next Ladies Night on Thursday, Sept 20th. Tickets are on sale now! (and check out the photo at the bottom of the page taken by yours truly – hee!!). The price went up from $25 for the first one to $35 this round, however given the seats are $34, it’s still well worth it for the pre-game fun, drinks, and bites. Maye a friend or I will win something this time!

Wow, those announcers are idiots.

Yeah, I assumed they were the Philly announcers.

Hmm.. and it sounds like he says “Brian Giles” in the beginning of the clip. Yeah, that’s just the way the game is played. (eyeroll)

I’m planning to be at Ladies Night, but sit in my season ticket spot. With the Rockies, I was in a terrace seat, but between two guys and a family. That was fine for the Rockies, but with the Phillies, I want to know where my friends are!

Ah yes, I saw that you can now buy the ladies night portion for $20 if you’re a season ticket holder. It’s not our turn for our seats that night, so I have to sit in the LN seats (324).

May show up that game, but unlikely for the ladies night tickets.
Yes, he did say Brian Giles which I know can be confusing now that they’re on the same team and all, but remembering that one is in the infield, the other the outfield shouldn’t be that difficult.

All right, go ahead and order the tix; I figured out a compromise :-)
I hope it’s a stirring victory, like the last Ladies’ Night!

Woot! Got ‘em already ;-)
