Welcome to Washiyorkinnatington

Date December 11, 2007

As I tabulated where the recent player additions to the Nationals came from, the cell phone commercial that mashes city names together kept running through my head. The latest addition, catcher Paul Lo Duca from the Mets, should be finalized today, reuniting him with former teammate Lastings Milledge. Then there are all the former Cincinnati Reds, and of course, the team is based in Washington. So we are now Washiyorkinnatington, SE. It has a kind of ring to it, eh?

The catcher situation is becoming a little clearer, although I still have a hard time believing Jesus Flores (taken from the Mets system, by the way!) is going to start the season with the major league club based on statements Bowden made. I think I’ll just hold my breath until spring training starts to see what other moves are made, if any! This has been one of the most unpredictable off-seasons.

great, roid boy loduca. kind of dumb to write checks when you’re purchasing illegal drugs, huh? actually, i don’t care. but those nats fans who brought the bonds signs last year, well, are they going to do it for loduca?

your boy bennett also had a check in the mitchell report. lots of catchers in there. man, that must really be tough on the body!

good to see bowden making some effort this off season. you may be interested in this: http://frontier.cincinnati.com/blogs/spring/2007/12/nats-to-change-logo.asp

    Bwahahaha! Love the new logo!

Yeah, kind of a bummer as far as timing goes with LoDuca. I was sad to see Bennett’s name on the list, although he purchased HgH before it was officially banned by MLB. I suppose it was still illegal, though, in the broader sense. Todd Pratt…

But Nook Logan?!?! That was a big surprise!
