Nationals Park Info
March 27, 2008
I’ve noticed a few questions here and there on what’s allowed and what’s not with regards to food and cameras at the new ballpark as well if the kids running the bases will continue. In fact, I was wondering the camera thing myself. I hunted around online and couldn’t find the info. I was discussing the concessions available with my neighbors last night over a glass of wine, and told them I would send them the information I had. This morning I went through my Nats folders (aka press kits) and while hunting for the food options (heh – more on that later!), ran across a page titled “Nationals Park — Fan Information” and ding! The good news is, the lenses allowed are bigger by two inches! (yeah yeah, that’s what she said). So without further ado, here you go:
Nationals Park Fan Information

Thanks Cathy. Great info!
It sounds like even a high-end camera like a D2X might get through if the lens was short. You think?

Let me try to comment and ensure I’ve thoroughly read the material this time ;-)
Ms Chatter, I wonder if the bar in the Centerfield Club and the Stars & Stripes club will serve alcohol past the seventh inning. I know they do in other parks..Nothing like having no beer during extra innings (or free baseball as my wife likes to say)so I hope there is some place to grab a cold one past the seventh.

Hmm… good question! I don’t know, but will try to find out.
LTWTPR: Yeah, I think you might be able to get that in!

Hey Misschatter,
How about doing a review of the miserable excuse for food provided to the media before and during the Nationals home games. It truly makes the microwave burritos at the local 7-11 look appealing.
Many in the press thought the food at RFK was sorry, but the new food service make many long for those good old days at RFK. I can only wonder if those in charge of press dining have ever been to any other ballpark to witness how it is done. What they serve up makes a good argument in favor of a bulemic purge.
Perhaps after the wars wane, we in the press could get surplus MRE’s shipped into Nationals Park. Even the roach coaches that serviced the construction workers who built the place had better food.
Regards,
Mike Flagg

Ha, good idea Mike! I need to get the opportunity this season first! Haven’t had it yet. But now that the online photography issues have been worked out, hopefully it’ll be soon…
Ya know, I never actually sampled the media fare at RFK. I heard such bad reviews about it and didn’t want to stop working to get any. When I got hungry, I bought food at the concessions (Stan must love me).

I was on the scoreboard at the end of the 3rd inning in last nights mets game for the DC lottery prize pack promo. Is there anyway to view the promo online?

Very cool, Jim! But no, not that I’m aware of. That stuff is all just live at the stadium.
