Pardon My Headache

Date April 6, 2008

I’ve had a dull annoying all-encompassing headache for the last week, which has made me a bit grumpy and out of energy. I think my posts have reflected that. So here are a few positives:

* Ryan Zimmerman’s bat is coming back to life. Yesterday he doubled in his first two at-bats, scoring the second time, and going 2-4.

* Nick Johnson hit his first home run since coming back from his broken leg.

* Jesus Flores hit a home run too.

* Ronnie Belliard also went 2-4 with a double

* The Nats held an open house at the new stadium where fans could watch the game and check out the concessions and high roller clubs. You can watch the crowd on the webcam (pick yesterday and then various times throughout the afternoon). I had fun checking out the crowd intermittently throughout the game.

* The Cardinals pitcher was wearing red and white striped socks high. I thought that was pretty cool. Didn’t notice if any other Cards were wearing the same. Kind of a Dr. Seuss look!

* Chico only allowed Albert Pujols to get on base with a walk. No hits for you!

* Today the Nats are hosting their Anthem Idol auditions at the ballpark. The event isn’t open to the public, and I’m probably too late getting the email address out to RSVP (entertainment@nationals.com). Registration begins at 11 AM with auditions at noon. Auditions for “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” begin at 4 PM. That sounds pretty fun!
