Things baseball is teaching me

Humor. At all times, find anything to laugh at, especially during a shut-out loss; like Mets pitcher MIke Pelfrey’s mouthpiece he kept clicking out. Ewww! What is up with that anyway?
Patience. It’s really easy to get caught up in the current frustrations around the team and new ballpark while losing sight of the longer-term vision and ostensibly attainable goals of The Plan. The neighborhood surrounding Nationals Park will boom over the next couple years. Concessions will work out their kinks. The team will improve. Ok, see above on “humor”.
Nah, seriously… when caught in the heat of a losing streak or mounting irritations, minor on their own, but giant ugly warts combined together, it’s really easy to forget the rewards down the road and relax. Good thing to keep in mind. Now time to settle in for tonight’s game…
Focus on the positives. Mike O’Connor struck out ten. TEN! The other day!
