A win while waiting for my *New Camera*!

Yay! I finally attended a winning game, although it had a somewhat downer ending when Chad Cordero halted pitching in the top of the 9th with a four run lead to summon the trainer. I was dying to know what happened? His shoulder tendinitis? Worse? Being without a radio or any updates was killer. We took the Nats Express for the 2nd time and I was wishing desperately that they were playing the postgame show over the radio speakers. But they remained silent, unlike on the ride to Nationals Park where they were quietly broadcasting WTOP (instead of the pre-game show). Can we request some baseball talk radio on those buses? Turns out Cordero sharply strained his lat (back of shoulder) muscle and is likely headed back to the DL. Poor guy! [Photoset]

Wily Mo Pena endeared himself to me with his batting music – something not country or rap that I actually recognized and love! Linkin Park. Now let’s hope the music helps him get fired up and whack that little ball. Zimmerman and Johnson did some whacking last night with back to back home runs.

Of course, LARRY Chipper Jones answered back by hitting one into the Red Porch seats. Sorry, Lastings, I don’t think you can jump quite that high! Felipe Lopez played some pretty impressive defense snagging a grounder headed to right field and flipping it to Nick Johnson off the bag, which didn’t get an out, but probably saved the Braves from getting any extra bases. Then in the 7th he threw out Matt Diaz at the plate with no force. Diaz still tried bowling the hefty Johnny Estrada over, but failed.

What is with all the mustaches on the team?! Ick! (sorry, not a fan of the ’stache) But if it’s what’s helping them start getting some hits (or Barry Larkin’s presence), more power to them!
