Discarded Peanut Shells : And your Nationals All-Star Rep Is

Date July 7, 2008

  • Obviously Cristian Guzman! Congrats to him. That’s about as excited as I can get about it right now. Nate, on the other hand, is probably ecstatic. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still watch the game and enjoy it and hope Guzman gets at least an inning of playing time – or maybe a pinch hit.
  • On another topic, I feel really bad for Ryan Church who has had a fantastic season with the Mets thus far, but has also had two concussions and is apparently still having symptoms. I hope he gets completely better fast. Head injuries are awful and scary.
  • Apparently I watch far more Nationals baseball than most people. I guess I’m a freak (surprise surprise). You’d think with watching that much more that I’d have many more words to say on the subject, but instead I seem to be in a blogging slump. That’s okay, I’ve been working on keeping my word count lower for those with attention deficits. At this point, my photos get about twice as many hits as my text. I actually think that’s kinda cool!
  • As I finish week 1 of an extreme workout program and continue bike commuting, I’m feeling quite proud of myself and even a little fitter (and even like my clothes are a little less fitter). Then I read something like this and considering how disaster-prone I am, almost give up!

Ecstatic is a mild understatement. I’d like to thank all the other crappy Nats shortstops who made this possible: Deivi Cruz, Brendan Harris, Royce Clayton and especially Felipe Lopez. Couldn’t have done it without you, FLop!

Hey Ms. Chatter thanks for the link to Chico’s satisfaction survey. I would have missed it otherwise as I don’t read his journal. And since I like to hear myself talk, er, type, I added my responses. Thanks.
