Yay! Baseball again tonight!

Date July 18, 2008

Today is my lucky day! I had a notice in the mail that the state treasurer of South Dakota found $1200 in unclaimed money owed to me. Sweet! Then I received an invitation to take in a game the last week of July in a party suite with a special guest meet and greet (more on that after it happens). Tonight, the Nats resume the second half of the season. At the rate my luck is going today, they may even win against the Braves tonight!

I tried to sit through the Orioles game last night for the mere reason it was the only baseball game on, but my interest waned after a while. Although, I made the interesting observation that my heart rate changed not one bit watching a game I had no emotional investment in. Interesting! I wish I had known the Congressional Baseball Game was going on, but I didn’t know anything about it until this morning. So along with Nats baseball returning to a tv near you, Johnny Estrada returns as well, making four catchers on the active roster. Wow! “We’ve stockpiled young arms and a personal catcher for each…”

Wily Mo Pena was officially placed on the disabled list and will have shoulder surgery Tuesday. I think I need a pet project (ala Guzmania) and I love the phrase Nate coined of PENA-Mo-nium, so I’m stealing it. If Guzmania worked, propelling Cristian Guzman to the All-Star Game, then may Penamonium pay off in the future, showing what an awesome player Wily Mo Pena really is when not injured! Hey, now I have a player jersey to get! (How long is Wily Mo signed?)

1 year contract. You can see them all here: http://mlbcontracts.blogspot.com/2005/01/washington-nationals_01.html.

I’m afraid Wily Mo isn’t the best project to take on. He’s just not the guy who’s going to treat you right.

    How about
    Praise Jesus!
    It takes a Milledge

Or if Shairon Martis comes up… the wowin’ Curacaoan! (I’m going to use that one.)

Oh darn!! So much for that idea. Since we have two Jesuses I could have two for the catch-phrase of one and use it interchangeably. Milledge is an excellent choice as well, although I think needs a better slogan… Hmm…. I’ll ponder that one.
