Score!
July 19, 2008
Wow, I am so excited! We just scored our second pair of Presidents Club tickets this season for the July 30th game. This time I’ll refrain from moving down to the seemingly innocuous empty row! Nor are we bringing our kids, so we can socialize grownup-style after the game.
Last night’s game became pretty exciting in the top of the 9th when with two outs, the difference between tying (or taking the lead) and losing was one hit. The hit was not to be, but at least there was a little rush there toward the end of the game. Paul Lo Duca even successfully stole 2nd during the game!
Like Kristen, I was also wondering where Jon Rauch was as the cameras showed Joel Hanrahan warming in the pen….
Should I admit I’m participating in the MLB.com Beat The Streak contest and my first pick for a player to get a hit was one of our opponents last night? I felt bad, really I did, but I thought choosing “Laaaa-Reee” Chipper Jones was a surer bet than taking Guzman (although he also got a hit, so I still would have begun my ’streak’). Of course, you can pick any player on any team, so I thought I’d branch out and picked “The Riot” Ryan Theriot of the Cubs for tonight. This could be fun!
With all the shoulder injuries and surgeries, I found Curt Schilling’s post (with nasty pictures included) on his experience and surgery fascinating, if a little queasy.
