Congrats to Austin Kearns on his 100th HR!

Curses to the MASN/MASN2 thing, though. I heard the first three innings on the radio in the car, and as much as I love Charlie and Dave, I wanted to rewind and *see* Bobby Cox jawing with the umpire after being ejected. Unfortunately, the DVR was recording MASN, not MASN2 as it has no way to differentiate what teams are playing under the MLB Baseball titles and often MASN2 doesn’t show up as a game in the online guide. So it was not recording MASN2 which happens to be where today’s Nats game lived. Oh well.
What team was that today?! Great game! The Nats took over three hours of their sweet time pummeling the Braves 16-5 15-6 and trying to help the Braves trade Mark Teixeira (although latest is he’s not on the block)! Thanks to the knowledgeable and compassionate Braves fan who threw Austin’s 100th home run ball back on the field so he could save the memento. Heh.
May I recommend the P90X system to Dmitri Young? It comes with a cookbook and meal plan too that I’ve made quite a few recipes out of already that would be great for a diabetic. Even after only doing the first week of the system, I noticed definite improvement (I have also been biking at the same time). I can’t wait to see how improved Mr. Chatter and I are in two or three more months!
Willie Harris has been in the opposite of a slump and the rest of the team seems to be following along. As they say, slumps are contagious but so are hitting streaks. What timing to start the contagion than right after the All-Star break. A reset if you will. The Nationals started out by winning their first series and hopefully the streak will continue. Everyone, the players and the broadcasters, seemed much happier.
What happens to Harris when Lastings Milledge returns from the disabled list? He can either go back to the bench or maybe start playing first base? Until Dukes returns, he could slide over to left, putting Langerhans back on the bench. Of course, there’s still the trade deadline looming and maybe, just maybe, the roster will look a bit different by the time Milledge returns. Maybe. So far the only rumors surrounding trades involve Jon Rauch.
My streak is now up to 3 :-) (Today’s pick: Jeff Francoeur – hey, he had a good record against Odalis Perez! After his first hit, I was happy having him make outs the rest of the game.)

It was actually 15-6…but it still set the Nationals’ team record for runs scored in a single game (how sad).

Oops, isn’t that what I said? Can I claim dyslexia?
