I wonder if Mr. Chatter will bring me home a surprise from tomorrow night’s game as he’s taking a friend!

The Washington Nationals have partnered with the Washington Humane Society to host the first annual Adopt-A-Pet at the Park Event on Friday, September 20 when the team faces the San Diego Padres at 7:35pm. Volunteers from the Humane Society will be outside the Center Field Gate with several dogs and cats looking for new homes beginning at 5:00pm. Fans interested in adopting an animal may fill out applications on-site. WHS will also host a silent auction at the Nationals Community Relations Table, located in the Center Field Plaza, from gates open through the 6th inning. All proceeds from the silent auction and a portion of the proceeds from tickets purchased through this link will benefit the Washington Humane Society.

The Nats actually have quite a few cool events and giveaways during this final homestand of the 2008 season, like last night’s green Curly W hats for “Half way to St. Patty’s Day” and the upcoming Oktoberfest party on the left field garage roof deck. Personally, I’m looking forward to the fleece scarf to keep me warm during the off-season.
