Paparazzi

Is Stan Kasten being followed by the paparazzi? Was Stan really spotted over the weekend in New Orleans? You know the old saying of believe 1/2 of what you hear and none of what you see? There hopefully is no truth to this piece so, Say it ain’t so Stan!
Interesting to anyone who read http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/sep/23/not-according-to-plan/
and these portions of that article, “Stan hasn’t been able to do the things he wants to do,” a source close to the team said. “They’re not letting him do the things he was brought here to do.” Sources said Kasten has become increasingly frustrated, and some suggested he could step down as president, though most said his departure was unlikely. Kasten, however, insists he has a “great personal relationship with the entire Lerner family” and said everyone in the franchise is working hard to rebuild the team.
so I paid no attention to the rumors based on Stan’s comments in the article and subsequent to the article.
Fast forward to today and another piece printed today from Metro News in Canada:
The Blue Jays hope the president of the Washington Nationals becomes their new president. Stan Kasten, who also has presided over the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Thrashers, is atop the list to replace the Jays’ interim prez, Paul Beeston. Sources spotted Jays lawyer Gord Kirke meeting with Kasten in New Orleans on the weekend. http://www.metronews.ca/edmonton/sports/article/138914
Hopefully it is mistaken identity or a coincidence or 2 old friends talking so take it with a grain of salt as it may mean NOTHING!

We had this same story up early yesterday. For more, http://wevegotheart.com/2008/11/11/rumor-kasten-meets-with-toronto-blue-jays/

Kristen – Congrats on getting the same story up early yesterday.
Heck, is it even news? That’s the point of this Blog. If it was real news, wouldn’t we have seen a story in the Washington Post by Tom Boswell?
BTW, I’m wondering where the Paparazzi photo is of Stan and the lawyer. LOL

Oh also the 6:53 am on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 time this was posted was the time that Miss Chatter got it online not the time the Blog was written.
Keep in mind that Miss Chatter is sort of on hiatus so others are submitting Blogs here too.

No problem…it just seemed odd that we both found this on our own.
It’s not news per se, but rumors in other cities are always interesting, especially given the volume of rumors coming out of Toronto about Kasten.
Keep up the great work.

Kristen – Good job as you certainly broke the news first in DC.
I wrote the story and actually got a tip from a friend who emailed me the article in the early afternoon yesterday, and I thought it was interesting enough to write a story about it.
I don’t personally believe Stan will leave to go to Toronto, but it seemed Blog worthy especially after Mark Zuckerman’s story at the end of the season that created the rumors about Stan in the first place.
My friend who sent me the story thinks Stan will be on the move so we will see—but personally I hope not.
It’s the offseason so trades, Free Agents, and Arbitration are the big news!

No problem. It’s definitely interesting. I think we’re screwed without Stan, so I sure hope he stays but like I said, I’ve noticed a lot of little mentions about him in the papers up there and it’s alarming. I hope it’s just wishful thinking on their part.
It looks to be an exciting offseason for sure!
