Color me stunned!

Wil Nieves, my favorite backup catcher circa 2008 (since my previous favorite dropped out of the game during the season and hasn’t played for the Nats in years, but still holds a place in my heart) follows this blog! If, of course, that really is his profile and not some poser. Hi Wil! Still cherish my bucket auction winnings, proudly on display! (well, not the food parts)

More stunning was discovering that newly acquired pitcher Scott Olsen grew up in my hometown. WFY figured that out a while ago – I’m late to the party! Not practically – we ARE from the same home town – just different sides of the tracks, so to speak. Heh, so we have something in common to talk about if I ever get past my irritated first impression. By all accounts, he did mature over the last season and the incident occurred in 2007. So… being the forgiving person I am and provided he pitches up to the expectations… we’ll see how 2009 goes.

Hmm…. I wonder if he has any older siblings I may have known? Weird!
