FOX Sports on MSN – MLB – Source: Halos withdraw offer to Teixeira

Poor Mark Teixeira. This is turning into a soap opera. Two of his suitors have sort of broken it off with him with one of them (Red Sox) still considered to be in love with him and then you have the Nationals and Orioles waiting for their proposals to be accepted with a “Yes I will marry carry your team” and the Yankees are waiting to be the “rebound” team to possibly pick him up if everyone breaks it off with him. You have to wonder what Mark’s wife Georgia thinks of all of this. Mark said he wanted his destination to be resolved before Dec. 25th (Xmas) and that of course is a few days away.

Here is why the Red Sox and Yankees need to stay out of the Teixeira bidding, the greatest active 1st baseman in baseball is projected to be a Free Agent after the 2011 season and his name is Jose’ Alberto Pujols. Any team that takes Teixeira will eliminate themselves from the Pujols sweepstakes. Brian Cashman who is the GM of the Yankees and Theo Epstein the GM of the Red Sox both have Pujols name on their wish list for 2012 and beyond, but we all know how love is, you don’t want to wait….well Boras is making all suitors wait, and wait and wait.
