Everyone else is typing, so guess I should too

The Nationals are hosting their first ever “Blogger Night” (the last one was hosted by MASN, not the team). I suspect they’re trying to beat the Diamondbacks to the punch after the DBacksPRGirl put out feelers about what kind of access would be beneficial to bloggers on Twitter. (I kid! I kid!). No seriously, this is much much appreciated and a long time coming in my opinion. So far this afternoon we’ve had the undivided attention of team president Stan Kasten, acting GM Mike Rizzo, Manager Manny Acta, and players Willie Harris, Ryan Zimmerman, Adam Dunn, and Nick Johnson. Ok, well Johnson was only “observing”, but he still participated! Kasten says we should be informal and fun, yet I feel so conditioned to behave like media that I want to crawl under the counter in our “Stan Kasten Press Box” next to the official press box every time the rest of the gang starts applauding! Oh no, I’ve become the stuffy media! I’d rather dance to “Grease” playing over the PA system right now and behave more like Charlie and Dave.
Stan Kasten walked in here and watched all us bloggers with our laptops up typing furiously away and exclaimed, “Wow! It looks like a real press box in here!” I was actually busy plugging the lineup into my iPhone. Or maybe I was Tweeting. I don’t recall. Anyway, I’ll post more about the fun we’ve had later or you can read my spazzy Twitter feed. Right now, I feel like I need to pay attention to the game.

Eek. Clapping? Yeah, I’d feel the same way you did. Oh well, it’s a start.
“It looks like a real press box in here!” Way to patronize, Stan.
