Biggest BBOTB Yet!

Posted on July 24, 2010 at 5:19 pm

Is that awesome or what?! Thanks Bob and silent Rob! I want to thank everyone for coming out last night and sweltering through record-breaking heat to watch another barn loss. I really thought the Nats were going to win through the first four innings. Michael Morse - two homeruns and a 5-1 lead! Who knew it would all fade away? You'd think I'd know by know no lead is ever completely safe. And please don't say the shout-out was the jinx, ... Continue Reading

Nats U – Baseball For Women

Cross-posted at CSNwashington.com. Many thanks to Michelle Scalise for the fantastic video work again! Saturday, June 19, 2010 6:38pmBy Miss ChatterCSNwashington.comIf given a chance to walk on the springy outfield grass of an MLB ballpark, shag flies and grounders, try your best changeup or fastball in the bullpen and swing at soft-toss pitching, would you take it? Hat tip to Lookout Landing, this video has been amazing Tweeps nationwide since yesterday, particularly Nats fans still disgruntled with former Nats GM Jim Bowden. The lusty, "Chicks dig sabermetrics" bit by Bowden's fiance was embarrassing enough for girls like me who try to be taken (mostly) seriously, but then...!! I'm uh, speechless. Video: GM's Corner: Week 3 Continue Reading

Fake Umpires Provide Entertainment

Posted on June 20, 2009 at 12:13 pm

[ Photoset ] While the win last night was great, the game provided little in the way of excitement until the suspenseful end. However, from my perch, I had a view of the famous Toronto Fake Umpires. After every called strike, called swing/no-swing, etc. they motioned from directly behind the plate dressed in full MLB umpire garb (complete with helmets/masks). They even had a little brush and would occasionally brush off the wall in front of them in a mimic ... Continue Reading

Vacations Will Never Be The Same

Posted on June 19, 2009 at 5:03 pm

In conjunction with the iPhone 3.0 upgrade, MLB At Bat added live game video streaming. Woo! Of course, blackout restrictions apply just like online and the first thing the app does is check that you are not in a restricted area with a nice "Play ball!" approval message before handing you off. So I am trying it this very minute with the Cubs/Indians game in progress. (Cubs are getting killed by Jamey Carroll's newest team, btw): It even works over ... Continue Reading
