Adam Dunn Keeps His Cool

Posted on March 16, 2009 at 7:40 am

Man, Adam Dunn is a production machine! I sure hope his consistency maintains throughout the regular season. He and Joel Hanrahan are frankly my only reason to pay much attention to the WBC. He apparently cracks his teammates up and also knows when to keep his cool. Last night's game against the Netherlands was not terribly exciting aside from the fact that newly joined Brian Roberts was a homerun shy of the natural cycle in a game where USA was ... Festivus for the restuvus

Posted on December 23, 2008 at 3:49 pm

First baseman Mark Teixeira just signed an 8 year contract with the Yankees. From reports that have trickled in, the Nats' offer may have been longer/higher, but whatever. Happy Holidays. National League East teams generally face each other 18 times a year not including Post Season (wishful thinking), and the thought of seeing KRod in the 9th is downright scary given what I saw on June 23rd 2008. See, the Nats played the Angels in inter-league so ... Continue Reading

Expect some trades to be finalized and some Free Agent signings. San Diego's group led by Kevin Towers will again be trying to highlight a trade for '07 Cy Young winner Jake Peavy. Nat's ... Hometowns: Jim Riggleman Comes Home

Posted on November 15, 2008 at 10:15 am

By AllStarsPlus After the Nationals parted ways with Frank Robinson after the 2006 season, I personally called Stan Kasten to throw out a name that may not have been on his list---Jim Riggleman. Stan said that Jim was already on his short list, but as we know the Nationals got Manny Acta so it was great to hear last month that Jim was tabbed as Manny's Bench Coach. My first call was to Jim's family to extend my "Congrats", ... Continue Reading
