Discarded Peanut Shells – Doublespeak Edition

Posted on January 11, 2007 at 4:31 pm

I'm pretty sure I don't still have a concussion (if I ever did, although putting a button-down shirt on backwards might be a clue), so it can't be just me who's a little confused about Bowden's conflicting statements. Regarding the starting rotation according to Todd Jacobson: Bowden: "That might mean developing two guys in the rotation a little ahead of time and taking a little hit as we're developing..." BNL Woo!

Posted on November 5, 2006 at 8:36 am

I think we'll have as good of chance as predicting who the manager to replace Frank Robinson will ultimately be if we spin a wheel or throw darts at pictures on a wall. The MSM is pointing fingers at Joe Girardi, the fired Marlins manager. Me, I'm going with the New York Mets coach, Manny Acta. Why? Because he lives in the same building as my friends in Manhattan, and that's just one of those weird parallels that fits on ... Continue Reading

Posted on October 4, 2006 at 5:45 pm

Hey wow, after I decided to write this post, I realized Tony Beasley wears number 29 as the Nationals third base coach. Funny coincidence? All this time I thought no one in 2006 had taken the jersey number I wear. I did read and note that he wore 29 as the manager of AA Altoona Curve (Pirates minor league team) while researching his bio, and I suppose it makes sense he kept the same number since it was available this ...
