08-01-10 Phillies 6 Nats 4 (Photos)

Nats fans were poised at the ready with the brooms, but with a completely revised lineup, the Nats didn't deliver in Lannan's return to the mound again facing the Phillies. A cool light rain fell through the heart of the game that spanned 11 innings, with the Nats ultimately falling after Collin Balester allowed two runs in the top of the 11th. Tenth Day of Strasmas

On the tenth day of Strasmas, my true love gave to me... 10 Tomahawk strikeouts, 9 Bullpen innings, 8 Storen pitches, 7 Of those strikes, 6 Total Nats hits, 5 Golden frames... 4 Stolen bases, 3 Early Nats runs, 2 Throwing errors, And M. Batista starting the game. I considered inserting a scratching record sound after "9 bullpen innings" but figured I may as well finish out the verse. For one thing, I'm not sure how to insert audio into written word seamlessly enough to properly convey the jarring reaction a ... Continue Reading

Ninth Day Of Strasmas

On the 9th Day of Strasmas, my true love gave to me.... 9 hits a hittin', 8 runs a scorin', 7 Ks a outin' in, 6 near innings from Stras, 5 golden Reds-runs, 4 runs in sixth, 3 bullpen innings, 2 surprising homers, and a goofy cap on Pete Rose in the stands. Did you see that cap on Pete Rose? Wow. Dorkalicious! I know many people feel the "Strasmas" tagline has run its course at this point, but I vowed I'd stick with it through twelve starts, so you'll have ... Continue Reading

Eighth Day of Strasmas

On the 8th day of Strasmas my true love gave to me... 8 hits a hittin', 7 Ks a outin', 6 shutout innings, 5 RISP, 4 runs a scorin', 3 RBI from Willingham, 2 innings from Storen, and a great win in hot Miami! Well hello there! (said in my best Old Spice guy but female voice) Nats baseball is back after the All Star break and so is MissChatter. Me. I have a hard time referring to myself in the third person. I took a bit of time ... Continue Reading

Sixth Day Of Strasmas

Posted on July 4, 2010 at 9:51 am

On the sixth day of Strasmas, my true love gave to me... Six with walk-off Nats' runs; Five labored innings; Four hits off "Strass-burg"; Three runs in 9th; Two FOX TV gaffes; and a twitter diss from the booth. Another nationally televised game and nearly another display of lack of offense from the Nationals. Ultimately, Strasburg did not earn the win, but the Nats miraculously pulled one out of the proverbial hat in the bottom of the 9th. His game will be (or has already been) broken ...
