A “Marquis” Off-Season?

Of all the off-season acquisitions made by the Nationals this past winter, Pudge Rodriguez and Matt Capps appear to be working out the best to date. Jason Marquis, signed for $15 million and two years with the intention of being a stabilizing All Star force in the starting rotation, has the dreaded "floating bodies" in his elbow. Now he will miss up to two months after surgery to remove bone chips from his pitching arm. Brian Bruney, another off-season addition to ... Continue Reading

Say it isn’t so, T. Plush!

Man, if the team hadn't just resigned Livan! (I can't remember how to do the upside down exclamation point on my Mac), I wouldn't know what player to really look forward to watching. Season of Heartbreak

Jordan Zimmermann will kick off this season's Q&A series at ESPN Zone at noon downtown today instead of Scott Olsen. Be there to meet the new hurler! Ross Detwiler starts tonight. Based on things I've heard and yesterday's Smithsonian Q&A with Mike Rizzo, I think he was going to be called up even before anyone knew Scott Olsen was hurt. Initially meant as a one time spot start in order to push Shairon Martis back a day after the doubleheader ... Continue Reading

Happy Mother’s Day

A day late, of course. Hope all the moms out there had great ones. And I hope everyone had a wonderful time with the moms in their lives. My kids and Mr. Chatter took me to the batting cages at Upton Hill park. Believe it or not it's what I wanted to do and we had never been there before (except Little C who has gone to the pool often during summer camps). I've had an official pink mother's day Susan ...
