Davey Johnson is no coddler

Well, Davey Johnson's postgame interview following last night's 7-6 loss to the Astros was certainly a departure from the norm we've grown accustomed to with previous managers. He didn't mince words when discussing Jordan Zimmerman's not-so-great start and wouldn't even consider the fact Jordan had been hit in the shin with the ball earlier as an excuse. Johnson used phrases such as, "Those things upset me," and "those kinds of mistakes are hard to stomach". I'm torn between liking the ... Continue Reading

Nats U (Baseball 101) Coming This Saturday!

It's the date I look forward to every year, Nats U for women (formerly Baseball 101) at Nationals Park! This year's event will take place this Saturday, July 9th, at 10 AM and includes a ticket for the Nats vs. Rockies game that night. Celebrating Independence Day

Independence from slumps, boos, you-name-it! The Nats won 5-4 on a walk-off wild pitch delivered by the Cubs' Marmol in the bottom of the 10th inning. Most fans sweltering in the stands were not only hoping for a win, but a quick ending as well. Ok, at least I was! Happy 4th of July indeed! 2011 ziMS Night At The Park

Unfazed by the encircling throng closing in around him, many containing easily recognizable Nationals players, my son soaked up every card flip and mind game David Blaine used on guests Thursday night. Serving as Blaine's apprentice for the night, Little Chat's face remained serious while he concentrated on every amazing illusion, completely oblivious to the laughing flabbergasted crush of bodies surrounding them. As the night wore on, he dutifully doled out fresh packs of cards on request to his famous ... Continue Reading
