Getting serious for a moment

Posted on April 17, 2007 at 5:41 pm

I wasn't going to post anything about the Virginia Tech shootings because it didn't seem to fit on this blog, but that doesn't mean the horrific episodes of yesterday haven't been foremost on my mind the last two days. Like many, I followed every thread of information on the internet that I could get my hands on, saw the student's surreal cellphone video (the sound is far more terrifying than the video itself), and thought of everyone I knew who ... My First Hockey Game

Well, I feel like a dork because after the third period when they flashed "Caps Win" on the scoreboard, I was very confused. "Is there a mercy rule?"... "Aren't there four quarters?" Duh! Go ahead, laugh! Yes, the Caps won 7-3 despite me being warned before going not to have high expectations. So in that respect, it was a great de-virginization experience! Red Hot Chili Peppers Concert Tomorrow

Posted on January 24, 2007 at 3:06 pm

UPDATE: (thanks wonkette!) Tickets are GONE!I have two extra tickets to the (sold out?) Red Hot Chili Peppers/Gnarls Barkley concert at the Verizon Center tomorrow night. Cost is $150 for the pair (that's a discount over what I paid, believe it or not). You'll have to sit with me and Mr. Chatter, but we don't bite, I swear! The seats don't appear to be the greatest, but I got them during the pre-sale. The people that were supposed to go ... Continue Reading

Ooooof!

Ahh! A Cardinals win and I didn't murder any small electronics in the process! I tried to find a photograph of Ronnie Belliard sticking his tongue out (which he does often in the batter's box much to my amusement), but came up empty. So this one of Shawn Green sliding and missing a ball that bounced up into his chin will have to do. Great shot! Jeff Suppan was dealing while his counterpart, Steve Trachsel, choked hard in the first ... Continue Reading

Never leave home without it

Posted on October 13, 2006 at 12:36 pm

No, not your American Express card (I've never had one - have you?). The Precious Camera. Yep, me, eternal shutterbug, made a deliberate, if not well thought-out decision to leave the camera at home last night when I should have known better. My line of thinking was to only take stuff that fit in my pockets to a concert - change purse, cell phone, keys. Period. Not only do I follow obscurish baseball teams and players, but I also have ...
