I really pushed through the remaining miles and arrived at the house after dark, but nearly burst into tears as I got close. Despite the dark, I could see the area was altered. Debris scattered everywhere. As my headlights swept the neighborhood making the turn into it, it was unrecognizable. That’s when reality hit me.
