I realized our reservation to camp in Yellowstone was a day earlier than I thought, so we had to book it to get there in time. Oops! We stopped briefly at a park in Twin Falls, Idaho to view the falls.
We arrived in Yellowstone close to sunset and our first wildlife encounter caused a traffic jam as a herd of bison grazed nearby. Everyone stopped to pull over and take photos, so we joined them.
We eventually checked into the site that would be our home for the week. The sites were small and pretty cramped together, but I found a nice private space for my gazebo.
The propane had been fixed and we now had the lithium system, so the fact that they had no power/electric at the sites didn’t bother me. I figured if the batteries ran low, I could just run the generator to charge back up. Plus, our strategy was to branch out driving in each direction each day, so driving would also help charge.
