Riley and I took a stroll on overcast Hermosa Beach in the morning, and as I was snapping photos of the waves breaking behind the lifeguard stand, we were treated to an emerging double rainbow. Nice send off.
Despite all the warning signs along the way saying severe storms, stay home, I had no issues driving home from LA. Some rain, some minor standing water on the roads. The fields around GIlroy were massively flooded, but just a few trickles ran across the road. I did have to detour through Pacifica since 92 is still closed. I did giggle when this song came on – leaving a hurricane disaster for a massive flooding disaster. Some jerk cut me off TWICE getting off 280 at the exit to the point I had to slam on the brakes on my 10k pound vehicle in order not to hit him. That was the most my adrenaline got pumping the whole trip. Gas prices are back to what I left. The lot next to us is definitely falling into the harbor – yikes! The AirBnB lost quite a bit of its “yard”. The yacht club docks are destroyed and the “tiki hut” suffered a bit. I haven’t walked out to Mavericks Beach yet. Oh, and our internet is out yet again. But now that I’m home, Starlink to the rescue.
