Made it to Philly! Got to see A’s apartment and clear out my van. I didn’t even want to attempt parking the van on the street in Philly, so I went to Walmart and had A meet me there, where we transferred her belongings from my van to hers.
I briefly considered staying in the parking lot of Walmart overnight, as I had heard that’s a thing you can do (WallyDocking). However, when I looked around and took Riley out to pee, I noticed syringes and stuff on the ground and quickly went “nope!” I found an RV park spot for the night across the river in NJ.
The next day we went shopping and then toured old Philly with our other daughter (also lives in Philly). The three of us had a very nice lunch once we found something that was open.
Meanwhile, I got in touch with my former colleagues from the Washington Post to see if they’d be interested in getting together since I was going to be heading through there on my way to Florida.
