We started the new year “On The Road Again” – with the first stop being the Tampa International Airport to drop A off for her flight back. I sported my new perfect Christmas present t-shirt, courtesy of T.
We took a brief break on the north side of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in St. Petersburg – an old haunt of mine from my younger days. The bridge was shrouded in fog – something we’re familiar with in California, but don’t see often in Florida.
I found a way to transport our new propane setup, which you can see in the shots of the back of the van. I just really hoped we wouldn’t get rear-ended.
After successfully dropping A, we continued on to the panhandle. I found a small county park with no online reservations. It’s really hard to find campsites in Florida in the winter due to all the RVing snowbirds. We took a chance and pulled in, figuring we could dry camp in the parking lot worst case. There were spots available, but they were pretty hard to distinguish in the dark. We managed to find one after first driving the full loop around once.
We were transporting one of the mannequins to California to make her home there. With minimal space in the van, we unceremoniously dumped her head down in the passenger seat for the night.
