Winter Sunset

KT finally joined me in Florida and our daughter and her boyfriend also came down for an extended visit. Until this point, I had been driving to a Pilot gas station in Ft. Myers (about 20 miles south) every 3-4 days to dump tanks. It was kind of a pain and occasionally the dump was out of service due to someone abusing it, and there weren’t a lot of alternate options. I noticed there was a septic clean out in front of the house, so I ordered a honey wagon and tried dumping into it, then wheeling over to the pipe, dump, repeat. It took several trips and was kind of gross. Also, the wagon weighed quite a bit when full and I had to elevate it to get the spout higher than the pipe.

Once KT arrived and saw my system, he said oh heck no! So we moved the van to the front yard where the sewer hose could reach the pipe. I hadn’t done that prior because a tenant lives in a studio on that side of the house, so it had always been “the tenant’s yard” (there are two separate driveways and yards). It also required some hedge trimming to get a clear path.

While the boys trimmed hedges, I ordered some inflatable beach ball solar lights and path lighting because it was pitch black at night. I also researched and found a solution to the paddle board transport puzzle.

KT also came up with an idea to put a wine rack in one of our cabinets. It turned out pretty sharp! We also added a couple wire racks for storage of spices and bug spray, lotion, etc. I also found a solution to storing fruit without it rolling all over the place or taking up precious cabinet space. And by this point I had ordered a Nespresso maker and was finally enjoying really good coffee immediately upon waking 🙂

We also switched from a hitch mounted bike rack to one that mounts on the rear passenger door. Supposedly it could handle the combined weight of our two small eBikes.
